The "Buksie Cup" is a challenge cup which can be won at the yearly Danish Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty the "Ridgeback-day".

The "Buksie Cup" can never be won for possession.
The "Buksie Cup" trophy is a standing male Ridgeback made of cast bronze placed on an oval shaped enamelled plate carrying a silhouette of the African continent with an insert of two lying lions. The plate is fixed on a wooden platform made of "Rhodesian Teak" brought home from Bulawayo, Matabeleland in Zimbabwe  where the original standard for the Rhodesian Ridgeback was written down by the legendary Mr. F. R. Barnes and where "The Parent Club" shortly thereafter was founded.

Furthermore it has a leather album in which the winners details are entered.

The "Buksie Cup" is won by the dog or bitch carrying Buksie in his/her pedigree and reaching the best placement at the show of all Buksie relatives. Baby Class and Puppy Class do not participate. Should a dog and a bitch be placed equal the "Buksie Cup" will be given to the one closest related to Buksie. Should they still stand equal the judge will decide.

The "Buksie Cup" will be awarded according to these rules for a period of 10 years, until the Danish Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty the "Ridgeback Day 2014" show. Thereafter it shall be awarded to "Best of Breed" at the Danish Ridgeback Specialty, the "Ridgeback Day" show.

The "Buksie Cup" shall never leave Denmark, if it is won by a Ridgeback living outside Denmark, the winner can be fotographed together with the trophy and the owner will be mailed a photo of the trophy as well as a diploma.

Instituted on the "Ridgeback-Day" 7. August 2004.
